Marketplace Events Acquires Two Montreal Home Shows from ExpoPromotion
Montreal, QC – March 5, 2018 – It was announced today by Donald Cantin, President of ExpoPromotion Inc. and Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events, that ExpoPromotion has sold the Montreal Home Expo and Montreal Fall Home Expo to Marketplace Events, the largest home show producer in North America.
The 13th Edition of the Montreal HomeExpo was recently held February 8-11, 2018 at Olympic Stadium. The 5th Edition of the Fall HomeExpo will be held in October at the same location. Both shows will be run by Marketplace Events through a contract with Montreal-based Expo Media. “These shows are excellent additions to our Canadian portfolio, and we are honored to be able to build on the success of ExpoPromotion” said Baugh. “To ensure these events continue to reflect the unique Quebec culture, it is vital they be produced by our longstanding management partners at Expo Media located in Montreal,” explained Baugh. Expo Media also produces the company’s Montreal National Home Show, a 10-day show at Place Bonaventure, as well as three shows in Ottawa.
“We have been proud to produce both of these events to the people of Montreal and are thrilled to turn them over to an industry leader like Marketplace Events that has the deep knowledge of a large producer but the local knowledge of the Montreal market,” said Cantin.
The acquisition brings the Marketplace Events portfolio to 63 events in 28 markets including 38 US home shows, 16 Canadian home shows and 9 holiday shows. This makes 20 shows Marketplace Events has launched or acquired since the company was purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners in February of 2016.
